چکیده

The numerical approximation of the solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation arising in ultrafast laser dynamics is discussed. The linear electronic Schrödinger equation is reduced to a computationally tractable, lower dimensional system of nonlinear partial differential equations by the multi-configuration timedependent Hartree-Fock method (MCTDHF). This method uses an ansatz for the wave function on a nonlinear manifold, taking into account the antisymmetry inherent in the model to reduce the dimension of the solution space. We show that the ansatz used is consistent with the original equation and the solution can be represented exactly in principle using the solutions of the nonlinear PDEs associated with MCTDHF. For the practical solution of the MCTDHF equations, several numerical techniques are discussed, and it is demonstrated that physically relevant problems can be solved satisfactorily.

Variational-Splitting Time Integration of the Multi-Configuration Time-Dependent Hartree–Fock Equations in Electron Dynamics

We discuss the numerical approximation of the solution to the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree-Fock (MCTDHF) equations in quantum dynamics. The MCTDHF method approximates the high-dimensional wave function of the time-dependent electronic Schrödinger equation by an antisymmetric linear combination of products of functions depending only on three-dimensional spatial coordinates. The eq...

Parallelization of the MCTDHF code

The Multi-Configuration Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock (MCTDHF) method is applied to solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for few-electron systems. The resulting partial differential equations in one to three spatial dimensions require multiplication, differentiation, and application of non-local operators. We propose a parallelization strategy that is adjusted to the specific structure o...

A multiconfigurational time-dependent Hartree-Fock method for excited electronic states. I. General formalism and application to open-shell states.

The solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for systems of interacting electrons is generally a prohibitive task, for which approximate methods are necessary. Popular approaches, such as the time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) approximation and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT), are essentially single-configurational schemes. TDHF is by construction incapable of fully ...

Time-dependent analysis of carrier density and potential energy in spherical centered defect InGaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot (SCDQD)

Interaction and correlation effects in quantum dots play a fundamental role in defining both their equilibrium and transport properties. Numerical methods are commonly employed to study such systems. In this paper we investigate the numerical calculation of quantum transport of electrons in spherical centered defect InGaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot (SCDQD). The simulation is based on the imaginary time...
